The 2009 SASTRA Awards will be given to a German Scholar , Ms. Kathrin Bringmann. The SASTRA awards carries an award money of 10,000 US Dollar. The award is given for outstanding contribution in the field of Mathematics.
This award is conferred in the memory of Great Mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan.
The upper age limit for the award has been fixed at 32 years, as Ramanujan achieved in mathematics upto this age.
This award (SASTRA) will be given away on 22 December 2009 on the birth anniversary of Srinivasa Ramajujan at Sastra University , Kumbakkonam.
