Haus der Evangelischen Kirche

The workshop will take place in the large auditorium of the House of the Protestant Church in Bonn. The House is located directly on the Rhine in the center of the city between the University and State Library and the Albertinum College. Travel directions (in German) can be found here.

During the workshop the current (at the time) Corona regulations will have to be followed. This means in particular that proof of vaccination or current negative test result. We will update this website with more information closer to the workshop date.

For the duration of the workshop an allotment of 40 rooms has been reserved at the Motel One in Bonn, located in walking distance of the workshop venue. The stay for the memebers and associates of SPP2265 will be covered by the DFG. We ask further participants to organize their stay individually.

Instructions, when arriving by train/plane

Traveling between the hotel and event venue

  • By foot: the two locations are just a short 10 minute walk along Adenauerallee apart. A more scenic route is possible by walking along the Rhine instead.
  • By tram: The tram stops Bonn Juridicum and Bonn Bertha-Von-Suttner-Platz/Beethovenhaus connect the two locations via Tram 66.

Arriving by car/parking

  • If you plan to arrive by car, please get in touch with us or the hotel directly in order to arrange parking.

Arriving from the Cologne-Bonn airport

  • Take the SB60 bus from the airport.
  • For the hotel: Step off at the Bonn Brüdergasse/Bertha-Von-Suttner-Platz stop. The hotel is located across the intersection.
  • For the event venue: Step off at Bonn Markt. The venue is then a 5 minute walk away along Stockenstraße and then Adenauerallee.

Arriving from Frankfurt airport

  • Take an ICE train (eg. ICE200) from the airport to the Siegburg/Bonn train station.
  • Take the S-Bahn 66 toward Bad Honnef.
  • For the hotel: Step off at the Bonn Bertha-Von-Suttner-Platz/Beethovenhaus stop. The hotel is located across the intersection.
  • For the event venue: Step off at Bonn Juridicum. The venue is then across the street.

Arriving from the main train station in Bonn

  • For the hotel: Take Tram 62 or 66. Step off at the Bonn Bertha-Von-Suttner-Platz/Beethovenhaus stop. The hotel is located across the intersection.
  • For the event venue: Take Tram 16, 63 or 66. Step off at Bonn Juridicum. The venue is then across the street.

Arriving via Siegburg/Bonn train station (recommended for most journeys)

  • Take the S-Bahn 66 toward Bad Honnef or Bonn HBf.
