Compute the numerator of the Hilbert series (the Poincare polynomial) of the given monomial ideal, or of the monomial submodule generated by the initial terms of the given matrix. The result is a ring element in the ring R, involving the first 'd' variables in that ring, where 'd' is the size of the degree vector. In the first form, because the degrees of the rows may be negative, the first result is a monomial for which numer/denom is the Poincare polynomial.
