Diploma Theses
Theses in the field of insurance or financial mathematics are possible at the
chair Stochastics/Insurance Mathematics. As theses in this field are in fairly high demand, the following criteria apply to how the available places are allocated:
- the number of courses attended with the lecturer
- the number of courses attended in the field of actuarial mathematics
- the number of courses attended in the field of stochastics
You can ask at the chair whether students are still being accepted for theses
at the moment.
The minimum requirements for a thesis are:
Bachelor's degree
- Introduction to Stochastics
- with advantage another lecture or seminar in the field of insurance or
financial mathematics
Master's degree
- Probability Theory I
- or Introduction to Stochastics together with a lecture or seminar in the field of insurance or financial mathematics
- with advantage another lecture or seminar in the field of insurance or financial mathematics
Further options
If you have the opportunity to write a thesis in a company (e.g. in connection
with a working student job or an internship), co-supervision at the chair is
