To compute Trop(Flag5) using gfan and the Macaulay2 package Tropical we had to implement symmetries among the generators. This is given by the action of the symmetric group on the indexing sets of Plücker coordinates and addtionally a Z2-action sending a Plücker coordinate pI to p[n]-I. The file Trop(Flag5).txt contains the gfan output, i.e. a list of all maximal cones and the orbits with respect to the given symmetries. There are 536 orbits, among those 531 yield binomial initial ideals. Among the 531 orbits, 180 yield prime initial ideals.

For each of the 180 prime cone orbits we computed the Newton-Okounkov polytope of the toric degeneration as described by Kaveh and Manon here. The F-vectors of these polytopes can be found in the table below. Further, we compared these polytopes to string polytopes and the FFLV polytope for the dominant weight rho. These polytopes parametrize vector space bases of the irreducible highest weight representation of highest weight rho for the Lie algebra sl5. They give toric degenerations of Flag5. To compute combinatorial equivalence between these polytopes we used polymake. The string and FFLV polytopes in polymake code can be found here.
