George Marinescu

Welcome to my homepage ! I am absolutely delighted we can meet online. I am member of the Mathematics Institute of the Universität zu Köln. I am also member of the Institute of Mathematics of the Romanian Academy (IMAR). My field of interest lies between Complex Geometry, Global Analyis and Spectral Theory.

Born 22 June 1965 in Brasov, Romania.
University degree, University of Bucharest, 1988.
Master degree (Operator Theory), 1989.
Ph. D., University of Paris 7, 1994. My advisor was Louis Boutet de Monvel.
NATO/Royal Society Fellowship at the University of Edinburgh, 1997/98.
Postdoc Fellowship at the Institute of Mathematics of Jussieu, 1998.
Postdoc Fellowship at the Graduiertenkolleg "Geometrie und nichtlineare Analysis'' at the Humboldt Universität zu Berlin (1999-2000).
Assistant at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin (2000-2005).
Habilitationsvortrag 12th of July 2005.
Professor at Universität zu Köln since 2006.

Please consult my list of papers and preprints. Recurrent themes are the topics of the book Holomorphic Morse inequalities and Bergman kernels by Xiaonan Ma and myself.
This book was awarded the 2006 Ferran Sunyer i Balaguer Prize.
I was awarded the 2014 Simion Stoilow prize of the Romanian Academy.
